Crocs IPO looking even better

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Crocs Shoes have raised thier initial IPO price from $13-$15 a share to $19-$20 a share. Crox is looking to be the first major IPO success of the new year. There are lots of people in the retail industry watching this one. Stay tuned as we watch what the street thinks about these hot, trendy, colorful shoes.

2 secrets to successful IPO: 1. Popular Trend &amp, women’s converse shoes; 2. Patented Technology. This however does not equate to long term success. My bet is Women’s Crocs Shoes will have a very successful time raising money from the IPO, expand their production capabilities, converse all star shoes, expand into other product lines, but never realize the hype put on them because as soon as something is a trend it is already out of style. Thoughts? Comments?

Chanel Vintage Speedy Bag

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I wish with every fiber of my being that more online stores stocked vintage luxury bags. There’s something that I find so alluring about vintage – much of it, particularly those items made by luxury houses, has the feel of true exclusivity that even most high-end bags are missing these days.

Most of us know that almost everything we buy is made in factories, not by a talented artisan that cares about his work, and that makes luxury goods a bit less fun. With vintage, at least we can pretend that it was made by a guy named Francois in a picturesque workshop, diligently sewing prada bags while wearing a beret and smoking a hand-rolled cigarette. Or at least that’s what happens in my head. Perhaps Francois had a hand in the lovely Chanel Vintage Speedy Bag? I bet no one can prove to me that he didn’t – it’s vintage, after all.

This is not your average vintage Chanel handbags &ndash, converse all star shoes; classic flaps are fairly easy to find at high-end vintage shops and, if you have nerves of steel, on eBay,chanel sunglasses, but styles that were only made for a short period of time and don’t have the “iconic” status of a flap bag are what really intrigue me. I particularly like the large metal pieces on the ends and that this bag uses a specially woven leather to mimic the brand’s trademark quilts – the details go a long way in a vintage piece. I don’t know if I’d pay the premium for it, but if you want a Chanel bag that you’ll probably never see on anyone else, something like this is right up your alley. Buy through ShopBop for $4180.

Coach Ergo Convertible Tote

Mandy Moore with Coach Ergo Tote
One of the biggest celebrity fans of Coach handbags is Mandy Moore. The casual appeal of many Coach bags is perfect for Mandy’s style and she constantly opts for their exotic line of bags. Most recently Mandy Moore has been spotted toting the hard to find Coach Ergo Convertible Tote, which can be carried hand held or over the shoulder with the removable shoulder strap. This tote is not easy to find, as it is not online right now but you may try your luck in your local boutique. It is available in black, white, burnt orange, burberry tie, and natural. The beauty of the bag is how it can be worn three ways, coach shoes; traps are also removable to create a large daytime clutch or keep them on to wear like Mandy as a fold over style, or as a tote in hand. I love how the bag is not overpowering but still looks great on the boho chic look Mandy tends to sport. Price is $478 through your local Burberry Handbags store or through Nordstrom online.

Gucci G Coin Medium Hobo

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

When I first saw the Gucci handbags, I couldn’t help but think that the whole thing seemed kind of sedate for the Gucci aesthetic. I know that the brand has plenty of simple, clean-lined bags at a variety of price points, but whenever I see one of them, it just seems like they’re missing the point of being Gucci, for cryin’ out loud.

I’m one of the horde of Tom Ford fangirl holdouts, although I enjoy what Frida Giannini is doing with the brand more and more as the seasons go on. In fact, when I disregard the brand, chanel sunglasses, I like what this bag has going on quite a bit.

The look this bag pushes is very tame, I’ll admit, but it’s also mature and not too showy. The namesake coin is the only branding that I can see from where I&rsquo, prada sunglasses;m sitting, and the choice of shiny hardware instead of matte gives it a small pop of Gucci Wallet. As always, I also can’t say no to a good red bag. Good red is, after all, so hard to find. Buy through Bergdorf Goodman for $1590.

Louis Vuitton Fall Preview Monogram Shearling

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

louis vuitton monogram shearling

Feast your eyes fashionable girls and boys, for this is the last Scarlett ad you will see from me! Yes, my fall preview series has come to a sad conclusion and I have oh-so-thoughtfully saved the best, or maybe the worst, for last. This wonderful bag, chanel hanbags, which slightly resembles some furry beast or at the very least an Ugg boot, is the new Louis Vuitton handbags. Right from the get-go this bag just holds no appeal to me with the shiny, slightly plastic looking, monogram material and the fur sticking out everywhere. Great bag for the abominable snowman to look fashionable in,coach shoes, but maybe not so much for the fashionable New York gal! To add insult to injury, the LV handbags carry quite the hefty price tag for some plastic coated shearling wool with vernis handles! My verdict: a big thumbs down!

Waitlists are now open (possibly even empty), call 1-866-VUITTON for more details. Click below for more detailed shots:

Blake Lively and Leighton Meester in Coach

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Call me idealistic, gucci tie, but I love when I hear that co-stars on screen get along and hang out off screen. I have no problem admitting that I love reading gossip mags and searching through photos of celebs. Call it my guilty pleasure, but it is one of the things I do when I have some free time. So, although Blake Lively and Leighton Messter are rivals on screen, apparently they do in fact get along off screen. I guess I really like the warm and tingly feeling I get when people can remain close friends while they become increasingly famous. Here Lively and Messter are sporting some items from Coach handbags.

Messter is carrying the Hamptons Embossed Python Flap which looks gorgeous. The bag features black python printed leather with fabric lining. This bag is once again the kind of bag you can carry day or night without a problem. Her shoes are the Claudine Pump. The pumps look perfect for fall. I’m a huge fan of dark, chanel hanbags, rich brown shoes in the fall. Call me traditional (in this sense), but I think dark, rich tones are a must for a fall. Even living in Florida, brown, orange and even some deep yellows are a must in the fall. The Hampton Embossed Python Flap is priced at $1,000.oo while the pumps are $318.00. Lively is sporting the Coach wallet Hat which comes in a variety of colors. Hats like this are classic. We’ve all seen them from season to season; they just never seem to become outdated. The hat will cost you $248.00. So, what do you think about any of these items? Might you add them to your fall lineup? Everything can be purchased through Coach online.

Fashion Week Handbags Hermes

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Looking through the pictures of an Hermes Birkin runway show can be almost anticlimactic – we know that Jean Paul Gaultier is going to do something brilliant and that Hermes only uses the absolute best in luxury materials and finishes. They’ve set such a high bar for themselves that even though the team behind the brand almost always turns out brilliant work, I find that the attitude tends to be, “Of course it’s good. It’s Hermes.” Their perfection can feel repetitive at times.

For Fall/Winter 2010, however, Hermes Kelly did something that had a few people wrinkling their noses. Instead of the traditionally luxurious inspirations that we’ve seen them use recently, Gauliter went for a collection based on The Avengers and Emma Peel and created a retro superhero fantasy covered in the finest black leather. I’m not one of those people that’s going to question them – I adored it, from beginning to end. It may have used more leather than some people would have preferred, but leather goods are their bread and butter – why not extend that to normal garments, as well?

As for the bags, you really can’t go wrong with an enormous black crocodile Birkin. Or black croc anything – it was abundant in this show. The tiny Kellys attached to umbrella handles were adorable and irreverent, so long as you only intend to use the umbrella as a walking stick. The regular-size studded Kellys felt a little like they were grabbing on to the tail end of a trend, gucci sunglasses, but the studding was fine enough that the bags still looked fairly fresh and desirable.

DIY Ethics in men’s ties and fashion

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

DIY or do-it-yourself ethics in louis vuitton tie and fashion is not anymore a thing of the subculture. In the recent years, with the help of the internet, coach shoes, every individual can creatively design his personal fashion style. Do it yourself ethics actually helps the individual to be more creative and explore more ideas…
